The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced India's squad for the upcoming ODI series and lone T20I against Sri Lanka, with veteran Yuvraj Singh being the notable exclusion.

Fully aware of spinners' heavy workload during the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, the team management and national selectors have rested the spinners.

The bowling department might see some shuffling as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami are set to be rested.

Similarly, Rahane was the Man of the Series in West Indies, and Dinesh Karthik fared decently in the limited chances that he got, but both may still get the axe if the selectors decide to persist with Yuvraj.

Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey and Mumbai's Shardul Thakur have been included in the 15-men team.

Manish Pandey, who had a successful outing as the India "A" captain recently in a tri-series involving South Africa and Afghanistan, makes his comeback to the Indian squad after his absence from the Champions Trophy side due to injury.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel are likely to handle the slow bowling duties.

The five-match ODI series begins on August 20 at Dambulla and the last one is on September 3 at Colombo.

The Virat Kohli-led squad features Manish Pandey and Axar Patel, who are returning to the Indian ODI side after a year's gap, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal has also been recalled to the squad.
