Kashmir: One civilian killed after Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch district

Jammu and Kashmir Woman killed in Pakistan shelling along LoC

An Army jawan and a woman were killed as Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire twice along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The exchange of fire continued till 7:30 AM. Both the jawans were caught under firing on forward posts and shelling mortars along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. "The Pakistani troops also resorted to mortar shelling", he said. On August 8, Sepoy Pawan Singh Sugra (21) was killed in unprovoked Pakistani firing.

The woman has been identified by the police as Raqia Begum (45).

This has been the third incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan during the last 24 hours, with earlier two been along the border at Uri and Gohlad Kalran in Mendhar.
