US Investment Banker Arrested After London Woman Shoved In Front Of Bus

UK bus driver hailed a hero for avoiding woman pushed by jogger

Lawyers for American banker Eric Bellquist had confirmed he was the man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but added he had been "wrongly implicated in this matter" and "categorically denies" the accusation.

The man suspected of pushing a woman into the path of a bus on a busy London road denies being the attacker.

Officers continue to appeal for any witnesses to the incident.

Bellquist says he has proof that he was nowhere near where the incident took place and that actually, he was in the USA on the day the woman was pushed on the Putney Bridge in London.

Bellquist, who works for London-based private equity firm Hutton Collins Partners, was questioned but not officially charged during his arrest and was later released. "Consequently we expect a swift resolution to this wholly untrue allegation", Duncan Lewis Solicitors said in a statement.

Alabama Teachers Can Have Sex With Their Students, Judge Rules
The judge who handed the case ruled that "current laws protect vulnerable people such as those who are mentally incapacitated and minors".

The arrest came after police released surveillance camera footage showing a jogger in shorts and T-shirt banging into a pedestrian, who tumbled in front of a double-decker bus. He runs past a pedestrian before appearing to shove the woman onto the road as the bus arrives.

Co-workers said the driver's last-minute swerve "without a shadow of a doubt" saved the 33-year-old's life as she was pushed to the ground just inches from the bus.

The jogger returned 15 minutes later as he made his way back across the bridge but did not acknowledge the victim when she attempted to speak with him, according to police.

The jogger is described as a white man, aged early to mid 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair.
