Substitute Olivier Giroud headed in a dramatic late victor as Arsenal fought back to beat Leicester City in a thrilling start to the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Guardiola denied he is under more pressure this season after City's summer transfer activity saw them bring in five new faces.

Alexandre Lacazette's 2nd minute curtain raiser was short lived as Shinji Okazaki equalized for Leicester two three minutes later. It will be interesting to see Lacazette make a mark on his debut for the North Londoners and Jamie Vardy put his name on the scoring charts to help Leicester get back to winning ways.

Substitute Aaron Ramsey rifled home to level before Giroud - introduced alongside the Wales global - headed in an 85th-minute victor to settle a breathless encounter in Arsenal's favour.

In the end, it was Wenger's moves that paid off.

With 65 minutes on the clock Wenger turned to Ramsey and Giroud, the former nearly making an instant impact by narrowly missing the target when getting on the end of a left-sided cross.

An error from Cech in the 5 minute allowed Okazaki to equalise for the visitors as a cross was looped into the box by Albrighton, with the Czech worldwide completely running out of his goal as Maguire headed the ball towards goal leaving Okazaki to head in from an open net. It can happen in pre-season and anyway, I don't think I would have included him on Friday night.

"It's simple, in every game he is stronger since he joined us", Wenger said.

After undergoing solid preparation for the EPL opener, including beating Chelsea in the Community Shield, Arsenal were expected to start the season in a serene manner - score a couple of goals, make that back three look solid and pick up the three points without too much fuss.

If you have never seen a Premier League game and chose to start watching this season, take note that this isn't a normal situation.

As the 2017/18 Premier League season begins, there are already a lot of anticipations and expectations of who will be the Champions at the end of the season...but there is also a lot of predicting who will lead the race as Top goal scorer.

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez was never "close" to joining Arsenal, according to manager Arsene Wenger.
