Speeding driver crashed into house, killing 2 inside

Officers say 17-year-old Alia Sierra drove her car into a house northwest of Frankfort killing two children inside

Clinton County sheriff's deputies were called to a house in the 400 block of W. County Road 300 North around 9:30 p.m. after a vehicle crashed into a home.

Their mother, Bridget, 37, was walking into the room as the auto came crashing through the home; she was flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis-area hospital for treatment.

Pastor Brad Fullerton, their grandfather, says "my heart says there's no need to get up, but they're in heaven". Her condition is unknown at this time. Their brother was in an upstairs bedroom and was not injured; their dad Dennis was not home.

Clinton County sheriff's Chief Deputy Joseph Mink said Thursday the driver was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and that blood tests were being conducted. They suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene of the crash.

Authorities say she could face more serious charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated once toxicology reports confirm whether drugs were in her system.

The driver of the vehicle, 17-year-old Alia Sierra, lost control and drove through a ditch before hitting the home. She added that it sounded "pretty horrific". "Most of us can not even fathom these set of circumstances". Investigators are unsure what caused her to lose control of the vehicle and travel 100 feet off the road at the fast speed.

Clinton County Sheriff's Maj. Joe Mink told the Clinton County Daily News. "It's a very traumatic event on the whole department, the firemen and the emergency responders, I can't give them enough credit".

Authorities have not yet determined if the suspect who killed the IN sisters will be charged as a juvenile or as an adult.

The Fullerton home sustained major damage in the crash, and members of their church have been looking after the property. The driver was taken to the juvenile detention center in Delaware County.
