OR kicks WR Darren Carrington off team following DUI arrest

Darren Carrington is no longer a member of the OR football team, the university announced Friday afternoon.

"We will always consider Darren a Duck and support him in any way we can", Taggart said in the statement.

Carrington, who would have entered his senior season, was arrested on DUI charges July 1.

Earlier Friday, Carrington appeared in a since-deleted post on the Taylor's Bar and Grill Instagram account.

Carrington, viewed as a mid-round pick if he had turned pro, has been kicked off the Ducks team after he was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. "We all know you can make everyone forget about one poor decision!" Coach Willie Taggart made the announcement on Friday.

Carrington caught 112 passes for 1,919 yards and 15 touchdowns in his OR career.
