"We got him!" declared Charles Webster, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announcing that a neighbor was arrested and charged in the murder of 11-year-old Abbiegail "Abbie" Smith.

According to authorities, Abbiegail Smith was found dead on Thursday morning in "the back area" of the Hancock Arms Apartments, which is where she lived with her mother. Erazo is expected to make a court appearance on Friday afternoon, around 1:30pm.

Due to the ongoing investigation, police would not speak about a motive or if the suspect knew Abbiegail, nor would they say if any sexual abuse occurred.

Andreas Erazo, 18, who lived in an upstairs apartment, appeared before Superior Court Judge Richard W. English at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold to face first-degree murder and weapons charges in the senseless stabbing murder of the 11 year old.
