No formal decision has been taken on the appointments of Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan

The uncertainly in the world of cricket became evident once again after the Committee of Administrators (CoA) put on hold the appointment of Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan as consultants.

The chairman of Committee of Administratiors (CoA), which was appointed by the Supreme Court to bring the BCCI house in order, Vinod Rai was quoted by ANI saying that the CoA has to act upon the said recommendations, in consultation with head coach Ravi Shastri. Also, a cricket board press release on Friday said: "After taking the decision on his (Shastri) selection, the CAC consulted him and decided on having Batting and Bowling consultants on overseas tour-to-tour basis, as per the requirement of the team". "First meeting on 18th in Mumbai", he said.

On the status of Dravid and Zaheer, he said, "It's not an appointment. A recommendation has been made and the CoA has to act on the recommendation, that recommendation will be acted upon in consultation with the head coach", he added.

The committee has also been tasked with deciding on the contracts that will be handed to the coaches, including the head coach."Yes, the four-member committee has now been given the responsibility to take a call on the assistant coaches of the Indian team", the source said. And we have decided that for further coaches and others, we must have a discussion with Mr. Ravi Shastri. "And we have reacted to each one of those things".

The development comes despite Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, the members of the Cricket Advisory Council, writing a letter to the CoA stressing that they had appointed Dravid and Zaheer after consulting Shastri.

CK Khanna, the acting president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, board CEO Rahul Johri and CoA member Diana Edulji will be a part of the panel.

The new committee will reach out to CoA with its recommendations on 22 July.
