Over 7 millions pounds of hot dogs recalled after bone fragments found

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Friday that it's recalling more than 7 million pounds of hot dog and sausage products from Marathon Enterprises Inc. due to contamination. You can tell whether you have any recalled Sabrett meats by checking to see whether the establishment number on the label is 8854 or by comparing your products' UPC codes to this list.

Complaints received through the FSIS hotline stated that pieces of bone were found in the product.

The family-owned company says they're working closely with the USDA to communicate to its customers and "assure those customers that the recalled products are no longer in stores".

Altogether, almost 7.2 million pounds of pork and beef hot dogs, sausages and salami will be stripped from store shelves.

"The recall was initiated after customers reported small pieces of bone and cartilage being found in these products".
