Samsung kicks off new Galaxy S8 Buy One, Get One offer

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Features

The new Galaxy Note 8 will be the direct successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 which had to be recalled. It has a clean frame hinting that the device might have a new touch-sensitive frame technology similar to HTC U11 series, which will be capable of performing functions of physical keys and also be fool-proof enough to stop it from getting false triggered when kept in the pocket.

But the device in the image still resembles the phone pictured in other leaks of the tentatively named "Galaxy Note 8", such as the one Twitter user Ice Universe (who correctly leaked the Galaxy S8 in February) shared last Friday. While the expected release date is around a month away. Samsung will continue to support the Note lineup with the S-Pen.

Speaking to reporters in Taiwan (via SamMobile), it seems that Samsung's president of mobile division Dongjin Koh was reported as telling them that the Note 8 will be announced by the end of August. This was due to issues with its battery which caused it to burst into flames and made it risky to use.

Samsung may have already revealed the design of the Galaxy Note 8 ahead of schedule through a tweet promoting the Exynos 8895, but the new leak takes a closer look at the smartphone's front panel. These images reveal the potential design of the upcoming smartphone. What do you think of the latest Note 8 renders; are you a fan? The bottom of the device is completely black, suggesting that the Note 8 will mirror the Galaxy S8 and have a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. This 12 Megapixel camera powered phone will be fuelled by a 3,300 mAh battery and is the most awaited phone.

This new device is expected to include a swathe of improvements over its predecessor including a new curved AMOLED Infinity display and dual-lens camera which should help boost its photography credentials. Additionally, the new Galaxy S8's display had HDR (high dynamic range) functionality for better contrast ratios - a feature that could appear on the Note 8 as well. The smartphone is slated to go on sale for €999 (£880), adds the website, making it almost £200 more expensive than its smaller sibling, the Galaxy S8.
