Tottenham defeat Man Utd to put Mourinho's Champions League hope in doubt

The Foxes pulled off what is arguably the greatest upset in sports, let alone football, when they won the Premier League title last season.

Pochettino, who also guided Tottenham to the FA Cup semi-finals where they lost to Chelsea, said lessons had still to be learnt in order for the team to convert a near-miss into the title next season.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Terry Naylor admitted he had a tear in his eye during the White Hart Lane Farewell Ceremony on Sunday evening after the 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Twelve months on, however, and the vast majority of those same players are preparing to see out their season as champions with fixtures against Tottenham and Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium.

Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Victor Wanyama scored goals either side of half-time in the last-ever game at White Hart Lane.

At the forefront of this incredible run has been Kane and Alli, who between them have 39 goals in the Premier League. You know very well that when you are second then you must improve if you want to win.

"I am more anxious about the mentality of the players being affected if they are not being paid what they deserve, and deciding they want to move on".

"We need to be more competitive for the whole season".

Neville believes that Pochettino has done an excellent job in transforming Tottenham's squad, but stressed that it is vital that the club manage to retain the services of Pochettino as well as key stars such as Harry Kane and Dele Alli. We are talking about top players.

"We did really well to get [the gap] down, at one point I think Chelsea were 14 points away from us, and we took it down to four points".

Tottenham are without Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker for today's trip to Leicester and Pochettino said he may change the formation for the game. "It will always be the club's decision to keep or sell the players", he was quoted by FourFourTwo.

Before Pochettino begins crystallising his transfer targets, however, he must ensure the current crop arrive fresh and raring to go at the start of next season.

The Belgian midfielder has been making appearances from the bench over the last few weeks and Pochettino has indicated that he has not been fit enough to make the starting eleven.

"Now it is a moment to give time to recover after yesterday and I will be here on Friday to check how he is".
