Preds Rally Past Ducks 2-1, Reclaim Series Lead

He has been marvelous throughout the playoffs in between the pipes for the Predators but had his worst game of the postseason on Sunday night.

It may be the Ducks and Predators in the Western Conference Final, but after only two games, all anyone wants to talk about is the budding rivalry of Ryan Johansen and Ryan Kesler. With two shots the goalkeeper failed.

The Nashville Predators returned to Bridgestone Arena Tuesday night to play Game Three of the Western Conference Finals against the Anaheim Ducks, taking advantage of the home ice edge to win by a final score of 2-1.

The Predators are undefeated at home during this playoffs run withTuesday's game marking their tenth consecutive postseason home game win including last year's run.

Even Predators forward Filip Forsberg, who has never been confused with, say, Claude Lemieux, snuck in a stick to the groin of the Ducks' Jacob Silfverberg just before the second period ended.

"That's really it", Ekholm said. "It helped us so much, especially with those two goals".

Roman Josi delivered the go-ahead goal late in the third period. "We knew the building was going to be loud and they were going to come hard".

John Gibson (8-4, 2.79 GAA, .911 SV%) shook off a rough start in Game 2 to make 30 saves.

"Gibby played well for us", Perry said. We were watching the Preds game actually after Jason's show... Game 4 takes place in Nashville on Thursday.

The lone goal of Game 2 came at 13:05 of the third, as Phil Kessel followed up his initial shot, which was blocked, and scored his sixth goal of the playoffs. Officials waived the goal off since the net came off the moorings. You can't go too high or too low after a loss or a win. Fans are waiting to see if the drama between the Predators' Ryan Johansen and the Ducks' Ryan Kesler will continue after some seriously brutal action in game two by the teams' centers. Luckily for Nashville, defenceman Mattias Ekholm knocked the net off before the puck could cross the line.

When Ottawa scores the first goal, as they did in Game 1, they can tighten the screws with their modified trap and make it hard for Pittsburgh to produce scoring chances created with their speed through the middle of the ice, which they are used to doing against many teams.

"We did a good job", Josi said. "We know what we can do in the room. I just shot it at the net", he said.

While Young may be busy on the road for the They Don't Know Tour with Jason Aldean as well as promoting his brand new single, "Losing Sleep", but he still squeezes in enough time to bring his "fang fingers" out on display to watch the boys in gold and navy move on to the next playoff round.

But the deciding shot was merely the icing on the cake for the surging home team, which relentlessly pressed Anaheim during the course of Game 3.
