Police say man behind disturbance arrested in LA

In response to the crew members' disturbance report, U.S. Pacific Command deployed two F-22 Raptors from the Hawaii Air National Guard to escort flight AA31 into the Honolulu airport, Cmdr. American Airlines said in a statement that law enforcement met the plane upon landing in Honolulu following a "disturbance" on the flight.

American Airlines said its Honolulu-bound flight, an Airbus A321, was carrying 181 passengers and six crew members. The source, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said they believe it was a case of an unruly passenger. The sheriffs along with other law enforcement agencies responded to the scene as is normal procedure.

According to ABC News, the man was waiting for the bathroom near the cockpit when a flight attendant asked him to sit down. They are now taking us off the plane a few rows at a time for dog sniffing and interviews.

As the suspect approached the drink cart at the rear of first class, the flight attendant in economy told him, "Sir, please stop".

"Crazy! Someone tried to break into the cockpit on my flight from LA to Honolulu", Instagram user bplus.noisefloor.dnb wrote.

The Department of Homeland Security stated in a tweet that the passenger was detained once the plane landed.
