Netflix to produce Witcher series

A new show based on The Witcher Saga is now underway. Netflix officials say they are developing the show based on the series of eight novels by Andrzej Sapkowsk which was the inspiration for the popular CD Projekt Red RPG titles. With supernatural element

Earlier a source material for CD Projekt Red's video game series by the same name, The Witcher, has evolved into a popular saga, in both, games and books.

Netflix also seems to be thrilled by the idea of bringing the Witcher Tv Series to life, and with good reason the Sapkowski's creation has all the potential to be a hit as big as HBO's Game Of Thrones. The series follows the adventures of professional monster hunter Geralt of Rivia as he navigates the twisted maze of politics and prejudice that make up Sapkowski's dark fantasy adventure.

With CD Projekt Red out of the way for the Netflix series, Sapkowski is the only one who will be receiving royalties off the show - assuming he learned from past mistakes before signing this contract, that is.

Tomas Baginski, who has directed the intro cinematic videos for all three Witcher games (as well as the teaser for Cyberpunk 2077), is set to direct at least one episode per season of the show. "I'm excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life".

Filmmaker Tomek Baginski, best known for his Oscar-nominated animated short The Cathedral, is also involved, along with Jarek Sawko.

Netflix has announced it will produce Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy book franchise in an English-language drama series.

"The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a unsafe world", said Daniel and Brown in a statement.

In an article published in IGN, executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown said the characters in The Witcher Saga are "original, funny, and constantly surprising".

A "The Witcher" TV Series is reportedly in the works over at Netflix.

With Game of Thrones soon to conclude its eight season run, the timing couldn't be more ideal for a new fantasy series.
