Mourinho: 'We want to keep De Gea'

19 May 2017, 10:03 | Joan Schultz

Spanish worldwide De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid once again this summer, who are reportedly willing to offer £60million for the Man Utd keeper.

But despite Mourinho's public assertion that De Gea will remain at Old Trafford, concern over the Spaniard's intentions have now prompted United to intensify their monitoring of Oblak, with the club increasing their scouting trips to the Vicente Calderon to watch the 24-year-old.

Citing sources at Old Trafford, ESPN FC's Mark Ogden reported the Red Devils have begun scouting Oblak more frequently as their concerns over De Gea's future have increased.

That's because the Daily Star state that Mourinho has made Jan Oblak his number one target if De Gea does leave and is lining-up a £40m swoop for the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper.

White House: Trump staffer's Western Wall comment does not reflect administration policy
Donald Trump is set to meet Palestinian and Israeli leaders nearly back-to-back on his first foreign trip as U.S. Tillerson linked Trump's deliberations directly with his aspiration to broker peace in the Middle East.

With De Gea seemingly set to move to Real Madrid, Mourinho has apparently decided that Romero can fill the void left by the former Atletico Madrid man.

This a vast improvement on the £25million fee they agreed with Manchester United just two years ago, when De Gea's transfer to the Bernabeu broke down at the last moment of the 2015 summer transfer window.

The Slovenia global has established himself as first-choice at Atletico in recent years and could be interested in a move to Old Trafford.

The report mentions that while United have also watched AC Milan's teenage goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, his lack of Champions League experience has given Oblak the edge.
