Mauricio Pochettino says he sees no reason for striker, Harry Kane to leave White Hart Lane in the transfer window. We can not change the table, but we want to finish well.

The way he talks, he is looking forward to moving into the new stadium which is a positive sign and, in his mind, everything is going in the right direction in terms of the club and the players in his squad.

He said: "The disappointing thing for me when they scored third didn't see enough desire from my team and it really drained us of any belief. We feel so proud of Harry, to score four goals was fantastic", Sport24 quoted Pochettino as saying.

"During the whole season we'e been talking about improving and learning and this type of performance shows that the team is improving and has learned a lot from last season".

"It's the first time I've scored four goals and it was a good moment to do it". I am sure next season we will try again to fight.

However, similarly to last season, the north London club fell at the final hurdle and conceded the title race to one of their rivals, first Leicester a year ago, and more recently, Chelsea.

Tottenham, which plays at relegated Hull in the final day of the season on Sunday, is seven points behind newly crowned champion Chelsea.

Tottenham was rampant as it sealed a 13th win in its last 16 games in all competitions, having already cemented second place.

However, the 28-year-old's two three-game goalless runs in recent weeks means that despite his brace against Sunderland on Tuesday night, Sanchez still sits three goals behind Kane.

"He has been key for us during the season".

Maguire has impressed thus far this season, despite Hull's problems, and has been heavily linked with a summer exit to a bigger club, with Spurs reportedly interested. "We spoke a lot about changing that feeling and finishing in the best way", he said.

And, Craig Shakespeare will be keen to prove that he is the man to manage Leicester next season. "Maybe we will sell the players that we want to sell".

After then scoring the victor against Sunderland eight days later, an ankle injury sustained as he tackled Papy Djilobodji ruled Kane out for seven weeks - with the striker returning on 2 November to get the equaliser in the 1-1 north London derby draw against Arsenal.
