John Terry was referred to as a'legend by Conte in his press conference on Friday

According to reports on Wales Online, Everton, West Ham United and Newcastle United have been dealt a blow in their efforts to sign Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson after he hinted that he would be happy to stay with the Welsh club.

Swansea head coach Paul Clement also believes any action should be implemented during the game by officials rather than retrospectively after the offence, which could have directly influenced the result.

"He can not have another situation like he had at Tottenham, where he potentially goes somewhere and is in and out of the side, and does not gather any momentum". "Sooner or later that is going to happen, the technology (that) will help the referees to be more fair about what happens in the game, to make less mistakes because there are a lot of mistakes".

The Icelandic global has enjoyed a fine season grabbing nine assists and 13 goals in a struggling Swansea team - a combined total only matched in the top flight by Tottenham's Christian Eriksen.

But Clement insists the short trip will have no bearing on his side with Premier League places and millions of pounds still at stake for Swansea.

Swansea have been drawn into relegation battles in each of the past two seasons, and Clement is hoping to avoid another one next year.

Since his return to the Liberty Stadium, Sigurdsson has been integral to the Swans, winning the club's supporters' and players' player of the year awards in the past two seasons.

Alibaba's share price unsteady on mixed results
Adjusted earnings were 63 cents per share, versus the FactSet consensus forecast of 65 cents, according to MarketWatch. The firm's cloud business has seen huge growth - in the fourth quarter revenue jumped 103 per cent to 2.2bn yuan.

But Everton have been heavily linked with a £25million move for the Iceland global, prompting Clement's advice to think carefully after he struggled for regular games during his two years at Spurs between 2012 and 2014. "They're top notch and Paul knows what he's doing", he added.

"The fact he's managed to come into Swansea, roll his sleeves up and pull them out of trouble, he'll become a better manager himself but I'm sure the club will do better next year under him".

"He has something special with Iceland, too, where he is a key man".

"We want him to be able to see from the second half of the season that he is not going to have another situation like this one, " Clement said.

West Brom have had a hard season and I think Swansea will end on a massive high.

I think anyone who stays up has done a great job in this day and age, especially with the bottom-half teams.
