David Beckham in a still from'King Arthur Legend of the Sword

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is now sitting at a rotten 21% on Rotten Tomatoes with the consensus being that the flashy modern action take on the classic tale forgets what made the story a classic, to begin with.

Guy shared: "He was fantastic, I love old Becksy".

David previously appeared as himself in soccer movies "Goal!' and "Goal II: Living the Dream" and also had a brief non-speaking cameo in Guy's 2015 action film 'Man from U.N.C.L.E". "If me and you are having fun and making each other laugh then we will make a fun film and hopefully make the audience laugh a little bit.'" Charlie said the new movie features the "originality and fun and cheekiness" that is typical of the director's work.

But at the movie's premiere in London, the British movie-maker was keen to back the sports star, who worked with an acting coach for the role.

Charlie is now starring in the Guy Ritchie-directed drama "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" and he's revealed what it was like working with the acclaimed director.

"I haven't taken a step into acting".

"He is very quiet and humble and serious". He looked after me in many different ways. "Where do you want me?"

Broadcaster Piers Morgan called his performance "Oscar-level excellent", going on to say "he could be the third Mitchell brother!"

In footage aired on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Guy admitted his kids had no idea who Becks was - but added: I think he's a very talented actor, he's confident on camera.

But in that film he spoke just two words, "Apologies, comrade", and those were subtitled and spoken in Russian.
