Bulgaria's Kristian Kostov 2nd in Eurovision Song Contest

An average of 6.7 million viewers tuned in to BBC One's Eurovision coverage on Saturday night as Portugal won the contest for the first time in its history.

Salvador Sobral, 27, won the competition with his love song "Amar Pelos Dois", receiving a combined score of 785 points. I want to be known as a musician. The third place went to SunStroke Project from Moldova, who received 374 points.

Eurovision, in its 62nd year, is aimed at apolitical entertainment.

From its launch with seven countries, Eurovision has grown to include more than 40, including non-European nations such as Israel and, somewhat controversially, far-off Australia, where the event has a huge fan following.
