Arsene Wenger future as Arsenal manager decided after FA Cup final

Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that his sports future is going to be decided at a board gathering right after the FA Cup final.

Wenger did not especially want to talk about the other big topic either, the fact that Sunday's game against Everton will be the last league match of his current Arsenal contract.

If Lukaku does end the season as the Premier League's top scorer, he'll be the first Belgian to win the Premier League Golden Boot and the first player to win it from a club outside the top four since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink for Chelsea in 2000/01.

Asked directly whether Sunday's match - on which their Champions League qualification hopes hinge - would be his last at the club's Emirates Stadium, Wenger replied: "I can not tell you that".

"Look, in a football club today, you have to employ people who can help you to be successful". One of them of course is what is happening with the manager in the future, the players who have to come in and renew contracts and all that. "At the moment I think we should focus on short term and what's going on on Sunday and in the Cup final".

The north London side have endured a mixed season after Arsenal lost 10-2 on aggregate to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16.

Arsenal need to beat Everton and hope Liverpool drop points at home to Middlesbrough - or that Manchester City lose heavily to Watford - to make it into the top four.

Arsenal has been playing well lately, winning four straight league games, but its rebound may have come too late. We want to finish strong. This may no longer be the case if the club miss out on the huge amount of money the Champions league brings.

Should Arsenal finish outside the top four the "Thanks Arsene but Time to Go" brigade will be in full cry. "We are on a good run and that's all we can do".

"I don't think Sunderland did that tonight, We had a go".

"It all left me feeling that I would never get a chance in any capacity while Arsene was there", he explained.

Arsenal are once again sweating on the fitness of Laurent Koscielny ahead of their final Premier League game of the season.

The Belgium forward has refused to commit to a new long-term contract and has made clear his desire to play in the Champions League, something Everton can not offer.
