Wanted Isco seeks long-term Real stay

21 April 2017, 02:21 | Joan Schultz

Bale had to be replaced for the final half hour of Madrid's 2-1 win in Munich on Wednesday after aggravating an ankle injury that saw him miss almost three months earlier this season.

Duje Cop opened the scoring with a well-taken volley from close range before a super Isco equaliser into the top corner of the Sporting net. It was of course Perez who first brought the Frenchman to the Bernabeu as the most expensive player in history back in the summer of 2001 and there is thought to be a strong working relationship between the pair.

With two-thirds of the B.B.C not exactly firing on all cylinders for Real Madrid in recent weeks, there has been a growing clamor from Madridistas to play their supremely talented playmaker Isco from the start.

However, Isco staked his claim for a place in the Madrid XI on Saturday, with a match-winning display against Sporting Gijon. "They went ahead on two occasions, but this is the spirit of Real Madrid and we have shown it once more".

Madrid had most of its regular starters available for the loss to Celta in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, when it couldn't come back after conceding two goals on counterattacks in the second half.

Isco's outstanding performance saved Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane from paying a heavy price for resting nearly all his first-choice players, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, for important matches against Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

A looping header from Mikel Vesga put the Asturian side back in front five minutes into the second half but Real equalised again just before the hour through Alvaro Morata before Isco bagged a late victor. They'll likely give up their spot to Levante and Girona, as they're first and second in Spain's secondary soccer league.

The CSO results show that a total of 2,003,645 houses and apartments in the State were enumerated in the 2016 Census. The CSO said its analysis found a 15% drop in the number of empty homes compared with 2011.

After the match Isco once again told the press that he's happy in Madrid and he wants to stay at the club.

And, despite 10 goals in all competitions this season, he remains a fringe player with coach Zinedine Zidane preferring a midfield three of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

"We will need to have a great game and be very strong", Zidane said.

Real Madrid's Italian forward, Alvaro Morata, scored an equalizer nine minutes after Vesga's goal.

Carrasco was denied his hat-trick by a fine save from Salvatore Sirigu before the Italian 'keeper made an even better stop to deny Thomas Partey seconds later.

Future: "I'm in the best team in the world, there is no club bigger than Real Madrid and I feel very fortunate to be here".

"This Is a relief in order to score and take the three points, that was what we needed".
