A second sexual assault investigation involving a Michigan State football player has been sent to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. "That player was immediately suspended on Sunday from all team activities as soon as we were notified of the situation", Dantonio said.

Michigan State football player Auston Robertson has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, the Ingham County Prosecutor announced on Friday.

According to, Robertson was a 4-star prospect out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, prior to committing to Michigan State.

If convicted Robertson, a 19-year-old rising sophomore, faces up to 15 years in prison for the felony charge.

"We are aware of a sexual assault investigation in Meridian Township involving one of our players".

He temporarily delayed signing a letter of intent with Michigan State while sorting through those legal issues.

In March, Robertson entered a diversionary program. The players have been suspended from the team, and a staffer is on paid leave for an investigation into how the case has been handled.

The prosecutor will now review that report and make a decision on charges.

Curtis Blackwell, the team's director of college advancement and performance, has been placed on paid leave.
