Harry Redknapp named as Birmingham's new manager

21 April 2017, 08:40 | Joan Schultz

"The Club will seek to appoint a new manager within the next few days", Birmingham said in a statement.

After starting out at Bournemouth, Redknapp managed West Ham United, Portsmouth, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur before joining QPR in 2012.

Redknapp, appointed 16 hours after Gianfranco Zola resigned on Monday, has secured four points from his first three games in charge three times in his career.

Redknapp, 70, took charge of Jordan for two World Cup qualifiers past year, and also worked as an advisor to Derby County last season.

But the change of manager baffled many supporters - and results on the pitch have done nothing to win them over.

Redknapp is due to meet the squad tomorrow before being unveiled as Birmingham's new manager in a press conference at 230pm at St Andrew's.

"If I can keep them up, next year would be something I'd really fancy", he added.

Steve Cotterill will also be part of the backroom staff when Redknapp begins his appointment which is to be at the end of the season.

To receive the waiver, though, states must set up a high-risk insurance pool or participate in the federal high-risk pool. Still, Republicans ran on repealing and replacing Obamacare for seven years and were elected, in part, on that pledge.

He took charge of Jordan for two World Cup qualifiers previous year, and worked as an adviser to Derby County last season.

The initial deal will see Redknapp take charge for the remaining matches this season, while further discussions will take place should the club avoid the drop.

"I drove to London and had a meeting of about 10 to 15 minutes with them and said: 'I'll come and do it'".

Redknapp's first game as Blues' boss is Saturday's city derby at Aston Villa.
