Prosecution's star witness says Aaron Hernandez is guilty of double murder

Witness: Ex-NFL star shot men after drink spilled at club

The incident that prosecutors say led National Football League star Aaron Hernandez to shoot and kill two Boston clubgoers was little more than a "splash" of a drink and a smirk, a former friend of Hernandez testified on Monday.

Alexander Bradley was with Hernandez on the night of the slayings.

Prosecutors have already put on 43 witnesses over 12 days of testimony. Bradley received immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony at this trial.

Hernandez is serving a life term for the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

Prosecutors asked Bradley about Hernandez's behavior when the two went out together.

Bradley said he became friends with Hernandez in 2009, sold him marijuana, and frequently went out with Hernandez to clubs.

Haggan warned jurors Bradley is no choir boy.

Bradley says Hernandez was always on alert when he was out in Boston, paranoid that people were staring at him or playing him. After he encouraged Hernandez to leave, Bradley says the two walked around the Theater District, "walking and smoking [marijuana] and talking".

"There they go, there they go", Hernandez allegedly said to Bradley, urging him to follow.

Neil Gorsuch's Supreme Court nomination hearings
Grassley was at the White House when Trump announced Gorsuch was his pick to fill the vacancy on the nation's highest court. Gorsuch, if elevated, would become the youngest justice since 43-year-old Clarence Thomas joined the court in 1991.

Bradley said Hernandez's cousin, Tanya Singleton, came to the house-and claimed Hernandez told her to take care of the auto. The civil action was settled a year ago short of trial.

Hernandez is also charged with witness intimidation for allegedly shooting Bradley in the face months later after he became anxious that Bradley would tell authorities about the earlier shootings. He claims Hernandez shot him because he knew too much as a witness to the shootings-and that he didn't tell police because he wanted revenge on Hernandez.

The occupants of the BMW did not react, so Hernandez yelled "Yo!" again, Bradley said. The two friends spotted Abreu and Furtado in an SUV, and proceeded to drive up next to them.

He said they proceeded to drink and smoke marijuana before departing for Club Cure in Boston -- one of their favorite establishments.

As they were lined up with the vehicle, Bradley said Hernandez told him to roll down the window.

"He fired five shots - five rounds, and then I heard like three or four clicks coming from the gun, Bradley testified". Hernandez then allegedly pushed Bradley back on his chest before leaning over the driver's seat.

"'See? See?'" Bradley remembers Hernandez asking him. He recalled the two panicking, driving around aimlessly toward the highway before Hernandez entered a Global Positioning System location on his phone.

Hernandez and Bradley's friendly relationship fell apart during a trip to South Florida in February 2013 to attend a Super Bowl party.

Later that night, Bradley rode home from the bar with Hernandez and other passengers, and they got into a heated argument, he testified. The comment caused Hernandez to become upset and walk away, he testified.
