North Korea Is 'Acting Very, Very Badly'

20 March 2017, 02:42 | Melvin Schneider

The North said on Sunday that it recently tested a new high-thrust rocket engine, raising speculation that Pyongyang might be seeking near-future provocations despite warnings by the global community.

The two officials' comments underscored how the contours of the debate over North Korea haven't changed even though Tillerson's State Department says 20 years of diplomacy to curtail Pyongyang have failed.

Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was killed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 on February 13, allegedly with a lethal chemical weapon called VX nerve agent, according to Malaysian police.

KCNA reported: "He [Kim] noted that the success made in the current test marked a great event of historic significance as it declared a new birth of the Juche-based rocket industry".

Yun comes to South Korea amid growing concerns over the North's repeated provocations. They have also discussed about the common interests of the United States and China.

Trump Says North Korea Dictator 'Is Acting Very, Very Badly'
Asked about the possibility of using military force against the North, he said: 'All of the options are on the table'. The US alleges that these tests have been carried out in violation of the UN Security Council resolution.

Tillerson talked tough on the North, saying that "all options" including the use of military force remain on the table in dealing with the regime.

Tillerson told South Korean officials Sunday that a new range of security and diplomatic measures are being explored, Express reports. Xi said that both he and Trump expect a new stage of constructive development in bilateral relations. "I don't think so!" the president tweeted.

The engine North Korea wants to use for the program is banned by the United Nations, however, the country claims its intentions are peaceful.

Tensions between the USA and North Korea have worsened in the wake of a series of successful missile launches by Pyongyang-including four rockets fired into the sea northwest of Japan on March 6-and massive U.S.
