The Jets may want to hang an "Open House" sign in front of their Florham Park facility so potential quarterbacks can find the place a little more easily.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Chase Daniel will be in for a visit. Daniel has taken one free agent visit to New Orleans where he played for the Saints for the first four seasons of his National Football League career.

What's ahead for the Neil Gorsuch confirmation hearings
Why is this such a battle? There are nine justices and they are generally viewed as either liberal or conservative. How has Gorsuch prepared for the hearing? The first was whether Mr Gorsuch would be too close to Mr Trump.

Daniel, who would be a solid veteran mentor for the Jets, has only two career starts in eight seasons, two fewer than Bryce Petty. Among the available veteran signal callers, a plan to sign and start Daniel for all 16 games is the clearest path to the No. 1 overall pick in 2018. Daniel then left to become the primary back-up to Alex Smith from 2013-2015 before departing in free agency for another three-year deal, this time to the Philadelphia Eagles. He's regarded as an average quarterback in just about every way, from size to arm strength and accuracy. Even though the meeting went well, McCown remains a free agent and nothing seems imminent.

The upside is that he has a background in the West Coast offense, which the Jets likely will run under new coordinator John Morton. The Jets could also pick a quarterback - perhaps Mitchell Trubisky or Deshaun Watson, in next month's draft.

The Jets are known to have had interest in Jay Cutler and Josh McCown, with Colin Kaepernick an unlikely target due mostly to off-field reasons.
